Temple, the place almost everyone loves to visit. Some visits to pray to god, some visits to see the temple architecture and there are many who visit for both. Whatever category you belong to and if you are staying in Bangalore you must visit Bhoga Nandishwara Temple.
The temple is situated at Chikkaballapura, 60 km from Bangalore city center. It is very closed to Nandi Hill and you can cover both Nandi Hill and the temple in the same trip.
The temple is one of the oldest temple in Karnataka and constructed in early 9th century. The temple is protected as a monument of national importance by the Archaeological Survey of India.
I with my family wanted to visit some temple on a weekend and while searching I came to know about this temple and decided to visit on a Sunday.
We started around 9 in the morning from Marathahalli, Bangalore and reached there by 11. The route was through Tin Factory, Hebbal, Bangalore Hyderabad highway to Chikkaballapura. It was a nice drive.
There are enough parking place near temple. So parking is not a challenge there. Once we entered the temple premises it started with a huge green lawn. It has a small pond in the lawn.
We first roam around there and took some photos and by that time it was my son's lunch time. So we sat on the lawn under a tree and finished his lunch. I saw many families were there and they all were having lunch inside. When I checked with the temple staff they told they allow people to have lunch if they bring food from home and it should be veg. So if you are visiting the place you can pack your lunch to have there.
The place is also famous for pre-wedding photo shoot. It seems every weekends couples are coming for photo shoots here. That day also there was one couple.
After finishing my son's lunch we entered the temple. Very beautiful architecture and open to all. It was full of stone works.
Then came one of the main attraction and the beautiful pond with many staircases and surrounded by nice stone work. It was a nice view and great place for photo shoot. There were few tortoise inside the pond. We spent some time there.
Then we came out from the temple and as usual final photo shoot and left the place.
On the way we stopped at Indian Paratha Company and had our lunch with varieties of parathas. After the lunch we started for home and reached in the evening.
It was an excellent trip and spent a very good time in the temple. So, why are you waiting, plan now to visit Bhoga Nandishwara Temple, specially in winter it would be a great time to go there.
